Any placebo effect is a possesion? actually I'd rather not discuss it to be honest. In my experience when discussing things that are connected to faith it often turns from an exchange of ideas to someone getting offended. I have learnt enough about this while studying psychology to have my mind set up in what I believe, and I'm sure you have your mind set in what you believe and hey, I respect that, I'd just prefer not to have to defend my scientific beliefs and make you feel as if you have to defend yours.
You're one of the smartest people on here for this reply of yourz (y). But it really isn't a faith related belief, it's more of an experience. And no, no one has to defend anything it's just sharing opinions :D.
Thanks :) but I promise you I'm not lol. I don't believe in posession for 3 main reaaons. 1st as i mentioned is the placebo effect. There was an experiment in which participants were given an electric shock. Both groups were given a sugar pill but 1 group was told it was a pain supressor and the other were told it was a pain enhancer. One group reported pain but the other did not. The 2nd is my lack of religious belief and therefore of the Devil, Demons or being that can posess someone. The 3rd is because of something I mentioned in another post, hypnogogia. At one point I was trying to lucid dream by using the W.I.L.D technique. It involves staying concious while entering a dream by tricking the brain into thinking your body is asleep. During this stage though I felt as though my body had insects crawling over it and I began to hear voices. At this point I opened my eyes and saw a shadowy figure with glowing eyes leaning over my bed, although I knew it was because I was concious to witness myself create a dream it felt extremely real and I could hear every word it said. Therefore i know how convincing the effects of your mind can be. These are some of the reasons I don't believe in posession, but, its just my opinion. You mentioned you had experience in something like this, if you don't mind talking about it it'd be interesting to hear about your experience.
Is it normal that I hear voices telling me mean things?
