Is it normal that I have multiple hidden personalities?

  • I'd guess it depends on how far this goes.

Mankind seems to have a perverse fascination with war, for example, which logically seen is utterly perverse.

Also, if online games or the language used therein are an indication, most people are psychopathic to some degree(who invented "teabagging" and why are games advertising "nutshots" as a feature?).
Also to consider: rape/domination are popular erotic phantasies.

So our nature is quite...different from societal norms.
But the question is: Are those just thoughts or full-on personalities? I'm acting differently based on where i am, and with whom. To an extent that i'd not be recognized as the same person("afternoon tea with my grandparents" vs "on the hunt in an erotic nightclub"). But ultimately, they are ASPECTS of me. Personalities would not be aspects, that is, for example, when in your "normal" behaviour you would vote for one party, be pro-war and for the death penalty, another aspect would still be the same, but maybe voice it differently, while another personality may be AGAINST the death penalty, against the war, and vote for another political party. Know what i mean?(Also note that as mentioned above, some phantasys do not qualify if you KNOW they are just a phantasy while enjoying them. Only if you think differently about the REAL thing would that qualify as a different personality...e.g. if you would seriously enjoy/consider killing or raping a person, just phantasising about it and being satisfied with that is not enough)

If i was to guess, i'd say you just have different aspects, as all of us do. If you DO have actual different personalities, thats a case for the psycho-doc.
