  • If what you're experiencing is in fact sleep paralysis, it's normal but also very terrifying nonetheless! As ItDuz stated, it has to do with chemicals in the brain. I also thought my house was haunted and something evil was effing with me when I first experienced it! Turns out sleep paralysis inspired many myths and legends back in the day, when they blamed all kinds of shit on "demons". I can't remember the exact references, one was something like a demon sitting on your chest because you get that weird heavy feeling when you're trying to move. If you research sleep paralysis you'll find tons of info and hopefully "rest" assured you're not dealing with anything supernatural :). I only experience it when napping at odd times and sleeping on my back so try to look at common denominators throughout your experiences and maybe you can figure out how to avoid it
