Is it normal that i have been isolating myself from people so much?

Recently I've noticed that I've been isolating myself from people. The only people I will be completely willing to hang out with are my three closest friends. A few weeks ago I had a falling out with one of my main groups of friends and I decided to forget about them and focus on other people, but whenever I'm bored and trying to find something to do, I think of people to hang out with, then I kind of convince myself not to contact them for some reason. It's like I tell myself it won't be fun or something. The only thing I have felt like doing is being in larger groups (like parties) to minimize one-on-one contact I guess. Am I going through withdrawals of hanging out with my old group of friends or what? I don't understand why I'm avoiding hanging out with people because I've actually been quite bored and lonely whenever my three closest friends are busy at work/school etc.

i do the same thing. i only hang out with my boyfriend. i will have opportunities to go out with friends and do stuff, but i always think up excuses to not go. having friends is ALOT of work, they always want so much from you and give nothing in return! ughhhh! lol

i am 75+ and have been doing this since i was 12. sometimes i lose out on so much of life experiences and friends. yes i built the wall around my emotions that no one has ever penetrated. i know why i am this way, it is a childhood issue. but at least i haven had a broken heart since

Some people are so immature. Ignore the rude and aggravating comments, it doesn't do you any good to read them. Maybe your problem is that you're tired of trusting other people rather than your closest friends, and just want to take a break from it all for a while. And it could also be because your closest friends are so busy that you have no one to discuss your problems with and that could be the reason why you are turning into an introvert. It happens sometimes, but give yourself a while to get over this phase.

Yeah I wish I could make new friends here. It's just that I'm home from college for the summer and I hate the majority of my old friends. I guess I've just realized how immature they are. But I live in a small town so it's next to impossible to meet anyone I don't already know. I guess I just have to stick it out until college starts again.

I don't know why but I do the same thing, even when I start to feel lonely I just don't want to contact anyone.

Yeah, that's exactly it. I feel like it could be some form of social anxiety or depression. Either way it sucks and I don't enjoy it.

Not everybody is a social butterfly. There is nothing wrong with being a loner if you are content with it. I think I'm an awesome person and I don't mind spending time alone.

You are weird for judging people who aren't so extroverted.

Seriously? Shut the fuck up. People like you need to get off this site. You're just one more useless bitch insulting others to compensate for your own insecurites. Being a "loner" has nothing to do with maturity level.
