Is it normal that i have an urge to itch inanimate objects?

Sometimes I look at an inanimate object and I feel the urge to scratch it in a specific location, as though it were itchy. It's not sexual in any way, and I do this often. Like, I'll look at this one spot on my computer and I'll just scratch compulsorily at it until the imaginary "itch" goes away. I can't stop until I've scratched the itch just right, but I obviously can't feel the scratching so I don't know. I hate it. It makes me so upset that I can't feel it so I don't know when to stop scratching the "itch". Sometimes I want to scream or just die. Help.

OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! I do the exact same thing and for a long time I though I was just weird. I asked my mom who is a nurse about it but she’s never heard anything like it, it’s a relief to know someone else has the same thing!

I'm sure the objects are relieved to have you around. It's probably not normal, but it is somewhat cute:)
