Is it normal that i have always had a hard time falling asleep?
Ever since i was a baby it took my mom over 30 minutes to put me to sleep. and at my current age of 18, it takes me hours to fall asleep whether i'm tired or not. right now, i had been lying in bed for 2 hours and decided to come ask this question. i'm not suffering from any anxiety, i have absolutely no scheduled time i usually goto sleep, i don't do drugs or drink, and i just keep my eyes closed and nothing happens. a lot of the time i roll around too much, and i will keep my eyes open staring at the wall for like 30 mins. but when i wake up, it's just as hard as falling asleep. i'll get well over 9 hours of sleep and STILL be tired and sleep even more. as of the time of this post i have been awake for 20 hours with 4 hours of sleep. I am extremely tired, but i don't feel like sleeping. i have been searching for a reason for a long time. The closest thing i have come up with is ADHD-PI. i have confronted my mother about this once before when i was younger and she said "Oh! that's just someone giving laziness another fancy name." i am VERY lazy and lost attention very easily even in conversations. i am not hyper at all, i'm a VERY calm person, but at night i cannot stop moving sometimes.(sometimes i start moving my toes constantly for HOURS) i know i have mixed this paragraph(s) up a lot, but if you were able to follow along with my terrible explanation leave a comment! :D
on a side note i show laziness procrastination, inattentiveness, and all these other signs of someone with ADHD-PI, and yet my mother never would believe me that it wasn't my choice to be like this. the PI stands for "Predominately Inattentive." i have seen many articles of people not able to fall asleep due to this type of ADHD.
Is this normal, or do i have something similar to ADHD-PI.
