Is it normal that i have absolutely no hope left for humanity?

I look down at the younger generation and, honestly, I think humanity is doomed. I could go on and on about this, but it would be way to long , I just want to know, am I the only one to feel this way?

I do get what you mean, and agree. But the younger generation are lead by example, and no ones perfect. Every generation has it's problems, just a different set of problems. I think the worst problem is manners, a lot of younger ppl dont seem to have respect (not just for their elders) but for anyone. I try to be polite and teach my 3 kids manners and respect. But they need to be set an example.

I am the same way, but I think mankind no matter what generation were mainly ignorant close minded and loyal to their masters like dogs. Their path to two sides will lead them.

Sometimes I think leading the path of religious beliefs will make you look at mankind, angels, and devils in a different way.

But the fact is that mankind has had more ignorant close minded and yelling dogs than different open minded quiet thinking cats.

I'm part of the generation too, but I can no longer call myself a human because it does suck to be human. I'd rather be reptilian.
I don't think it matters the generations of mankind. It matters more the people themselves. Sadly, the older generations were clearly much more racist and suck. They are the ones I look down on the most.
But stupid songs today that I don't care about anymore and other stuff make us look bad, but we weren't as prejudice as the older people...
But understand this, anger leads to understanding. And understanding leads to humility.
But as we know it, the human race will be extinct like all other races. If you believe in the supernatural we will be judged and enter two paths.

I'm 20 years old and work security in a bad neighborhood at the greyhound station. After dealing with the worst people I lost all hope for humanity. Today I talked to a complete stranger who was really inspiring and I've once again regained hope for people. I think one day well get it right and stop being so bad to each other. If everyone helps one person a day it can change the world. And I truly believe one day well get it together. And I hope all of you reading this take something from what I've said. Don't lose hope. Its all we have.

These three things may very well be the cause of people losing faith in humanity:
    1) Justin Beiber
    2) Rebecca Black
    3) Twilight
Oh god just listing these things......I don't wanna live here anymore.

Everyone looks at the generation younger than them and thinks they're retarded. People from the 40s looked at those in the 60s and thought "fucking retards". I'm sure they did. You're not supposed to like the younger generation.

I feel the exact same way I am eighteen years old and from Canada and I am losing hope in everything. What governments think will be a good investment for all that money I have to give up every paycheck. That people don't think global warming exists when it is happening right in front of them, people still litter, animals are still being tortured in different countries, people don't wanna know anyone anymore and just want to keep to themselves and that kids can't do anything for themselves anymore and rely on technology way too much. Gahhh the list goes on and on, it is completLly normal that you are discusted and ashamed of humanity and stuff, I know I am.

It's normal. It implies that you have eyes that can see and a functioning brain that can process information.

I'm not sure if humanity is doomed, however. It's just gonna change. My only real fear on this level is that a country in-which the younger generation is raised to be stronger and more self-sufficent may someday attack and conquer us (I live in the US). If the younger generation of all nations become like ours, however, then all we need to fear is the Robot Revolution. But I think by that time, our society will want that.

Every generation you say?Uh?Are you sure you know what you are talking about?Last generations didn't have to put up with the possibility of an environmental catastrophe and a nuclear war the likes we have never seen before.
    By the way,I don't believe in hope.Myself.
    It prolongs suffering.
Nietzsche wrote:Hope was the last plague coming out of Pandora's box.And I kind of agree with him.
Only fariseans and philistines still believe in hope. And it's kind of prosaic if you ask me.

I think this has always been true. What generation looks down at the younger ones and thinks, "well I think they will do a much better job than I did."

I think humanity is doomed because of the older generations, not the younger ones. I am so ready for the baby boomers to be on their way out.
