Is it normal that i have a crush on a girl that's impossible for me?

I met this girl in an Online Painting website in the beginning of the year. We got along well. I got to know her better and she did too with me.

Over time, I'm so insanely attracted not only to her looks but to everything she does and says!

The thing is, it's almost impossible for me to be with her because of:
1) The age gap between us is 5 years. (I'm older)
2) She lives on the other side of the world.

(You know how feelings for another person drains as time passes by) But I couldn't get over that feeling! It's crushing me from the inside and I don't want to ruin our relationship by telling her how I feel.

So is it normal for me to have this feeling?

    Ouch, that's hard. I feel for you. As you get older age differences don't mean as much but when you're younger they do. Go ahead and enjoy crushing on her. Enjoy the butterflies, the rushing home to check emails, the long talks, and all the fun parts of a crush but don't let it interfere with meeting other people with whom a relationship is available. The more people we know and learn from the more we grow and even though you won't be in a "relationship" with your crush, your friendship with her will still teach you a lot that you'll use in relationships later on.     That's rough, though the age gap probably wouldn't be that much of an issue the distance definitely would. Like penpal21 said try to enjoy it but don't let it interfere with the rest of your life.

    I would say go visit her. It is a modern world, the other side of the world isn't so far. (I've done it multiple times and I never returned home disappointed!)

    Just make sure you're both on the same page and have a backup plan for when things turn out 'different'.

    As far as the age difference, 5 years is not a lot. Quite ok actually, know a lot of people with 10 years. 3 for me.
