  • Website posted above looks good.

I used to get this...all through high school and well into adulthood - was too embarrassed to do anything about it. Mine was accompanied by excruciating pain, too. I got diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and I've been getting treatment for that. You can get the initial tests done by a general practitioner, then potentially go to a gyno or an endocrinologist.

If PCOS, there's a great herbal product called "Menstrocare" but it may only be available in Australia. It helps your body to recover its own rhythm, rather than forcing it, like the Pill does. I find i take a full dose for about a month, and everything settles down - pain at most is a twinge at what is possibly ovulation, bleeding lasts 1-3 days and is quite light (compared to the former "oh my god i'm haemmoraging" I used to get). My endo says there's nothing in the herbs that is dangerous (though you'll want to get that checked for your individual situation).

Another possibility is endometriosis, which can be more serious. I don't know too much about it, but I think that it is often treated with the pill or contraceptive injections.

Hope you get some help. It's an absolute bastard and can really limit you.
