Couldn't have said it better myself. I've always preferred fiction, though I try to read a decent combination of fictional and informative books. Fiction teaches you in a different manner, books have opened worlds for me and encouraged me to start thinking, learning and exploring at a young age.
For that reason I love to encourage my friends to read, and I loan out a lot of books to people. When something has had such a positive impact on your life, you want to share it with others. :)
Oh, but I do agree. Reading Twilight is just as bad if not worse than watching Jersey Shore.
Is it normal that I hate people being elitist about reading?
