This is me in a nutshell. It's so creepy because I honestly felt like I could have written what you just wrote. Personal anecdote: one time there was this guy that everyone always thought was so cool, and I liked the idea of how well liked he was, so I tried and made him like me by always being funny and nice, but then once he started flirting with me and being all mushy he disgusted me, I couldn't stand him anymore. i was only 14 at the time, and I was immature, however, I still do the whole shunning out thing when I feel people are getting too close. Sometimes I cannot believe some people out there can be completely honest and open with someone other than themselves; I certainly can't.
