I would hate it to if I lived there. Actually, I do hate it and I have even developed a phobia of southern related things. I have so many bad memories of being forced to go visit relatives in Virginia and violently becoming sick in the car.
Besides the accent there were many other things that bothered me: The extreme Christians, the intolerance, the homophobia, and the fucked up lifestyle and there was that smell in the air... The south has got to be one of the worst places a non-religious or non-Christian or gay person could live. I don't blame you for wanting to move. I think Colorado would be nice place to move. So, would NYC or Canada.
