paris is great.So much wonderful things to do if you just look.Get a room in a smaller town. Travel by bike. The countryside is beautiful when the leaves start to grow back.You should make some friends. Buy them a coffee and pastry or wine or beer and just talk .French people love to people watch and make fun of everything. Just don't talk about politics and don't be a fake.
