I'm Italian and I've lived in Liverpool for about 4 years. I don't hate the English at all, all my friends are English, my English coworkers are friendly and polite to me and I must admit that the English are more well-mannered than us Italians.
Sure, jerks are everywhere, but the English aren't worse than other nationalities at the very least. I've never had a problem with them, but generally I'm very good at making friends with people so I wouldn't know, maybe it's just me.
