Is it normal that i hate doing things more than once?

I hate rewatching movies, listening to a song on repeat, watching reruns, reading directions to homework more than once, even if I don't understand...

I also hate practicing math problems because it's all the same thing. I want to understand the first time, but I can't always do that so I just fail because I can't stand repeating things.

Do most people hate repeating things like this (especially watching movies)? It seems like most people watch movies thousands of times.

Is It Normal?

  • I think for the most part it is normal, yes. However, I think what you have against re-reading directions is not normal though. If you don't understand something why would you not give yourself another chance to understand it. Repetition is what helps our brains learn things. But, I digress slightly, one thing I personally HATE repeating, is myself. I cannot stand telling someone something and having to repeat myself, especially when explaining something. I guess that makes me sort of hypocritical but meh.

  • My husband thinks I'm anal, but he likes to watch a movie many times, even if he just saw it a few days ago, and that really annoys me. And we have a 4 year old daughter, so any song or DVD that she likes gets played over and over and over and over...it's amazing I'm still (for the most part, anyway) sane.

  • It's pretty normal in my opinion. I don't really enjoy rewatching movies, rereading books, and all that.

But, if I have to reread directions or something, I don't mind at all. So, meh.
