On the one hand, I agree, everyone is a bit different. On the other, I think we're ultimately a social animal, and that, frankly, you or anybody else wouldn't last long at all if truly and completely alone.
I'm misanthropic to a degree, but I find that, most of the time, once I start to talk to someone I have a really hard time disliking them, all in all. In fact, I think I'd go so far as to say that the only social regrets I've ever had concern what I have -not- done, rather than things I have done.
If I recall correctly, relationships are actually the strongest factor in self-reported happiness across nearly all populations. That's not to say that some people really are happier alone, but I think you might be surprised if you just venture a bit further.
