The only issue that I see is that there is a good possibility that he will end up passing away before I do and I'm left to raise the child alone. I mean you figure, when my child is twenty-five, I'll be fifty and her dad will be eighty-one (but, I hope that by the age of twenty-five my child is able to take care of herself and living a full-productive life).
There is that. But even with the age difference, she'll probably still be an independent adult when it happens, like you say. And really, it has to happen at some point. How you both deal with it depends on both of you at the time. It wouldn't be something I'd worry about...
