    No, I'm saying that I don't think violence is very funny. I know some do, but I don't.

    And I'm suggesting that maybe you do think it's funny because you said so and you appear to portray very little empathy for the person on the receiving end of violence.

    I also wonder if media has put such a positive spin on violence that more people are beginning to think that it is a laughing matter. That saddens me.

      Geez, lighten up. I was making a reference to roadrunner cartoons. It must be tough walking around with the weight of the world on your shoulders.

      By the way roadrunner cartoons are from the 1960's. There was violence back then too. There was violence before that even, believe it or not.

      As for you putting words in my mouth about thinking it's funny, I said no such thing, I am not the poll creator.

      Maybe you should try to understand how this website works before you go around with your morally superior attitude.

      You must be lots of fun at parties. Frankly, I'd rather hang around with the OP and risk getting punched than listen to your sanctimonious bullshit.

          Hostility? No. Maybe I refuse to be down-talked to by overly sensitive people that try to impose their standards on everybody else.

          Try to get a sense of humor....and go flip over your John Tesh record, I think I hear it skipping!!!

              If some folks have extenuating circumstances in their lives and have been the victims of violence, I'm truly sorry about that.

              That does not mean that I will relent and be talked down to by those who try to impose their will or moralistic worldview upon me.

              How did it come to this? Should I change my lifestyle to try to accomodate victims of this and that?

              I guess this Sunday I'll watch some nice maypole dancing or synchronized swimming. Nobody will mind if we skip the football game.

              Am I being hostile? No. Maybe a wiseass, and if anyone lacking a sense of humor thinks that's hostile, maybe they need an anvil dropped on them.

            I'm still not convinced punching people for a laugh is funny. Being a victim of violence for almost twenty years, I don't think I will ever see any humour in it.

            But if you (or anyone else) don't subscribe to my opinion, that's cool.

              You once again put words in my mouth by implying that since I don't agree with you, I must advocate violence. You also seem to be of the opinion that I am still the one trying to convince you that punching people is funny.

              A life without cartoons would be truly awful, by the way. I don't know how you do it!!!

              I guess things like boxing and hockey would be banned if you had your way? Please don't answer that.

              im sorry that happened to you. i have been punched in the face before! good things did not happen, and it was not funny!

              however, i still have these little thoughts sometimes.
