Is it normal that i get ready below average for my office?

hi all, I am working as a trainee pharmacist in a multi specialty hospital. I don't like to put lot of make up or get dressed very professionally. more than because of i'm very slim most of the dress wont look good for me. All other staffs including the cleaning ladies comes with make up and is it normal that i'm going very simple and without any make up on my face?

This is actually a really interesting discussion about women's dress in the workplace in modern times. You didn't mention high heels but you did mention makeup. Is this an antiquated standard dictated by a patriarchal system, or do women, given the societal option, prefer to 'enhance' their appearance in the workplace with cosmetics/dress normally used to attract sexual attention?

*edit* i some how missed the hospital part. Probably no place for heels.

  • Clean and neat is all that matters. Most staff I see in hospitals wear scrubs. Also consider some of the patients may be sensitive to makeup and perfume/cologne that inconsiderate staff cake on or drown themselves in.

I know some women feel naked without makeup, but you're going to work in a hospital, not to strut the runway in a fashion show or strut your stuff in a nightclub.
