It is normal to a point, but what's important to remember is that "punk" is an attitude as well as a musical genre. But anywho I'd say it's normal because when you're passionate about something it's annoying when random jackasses feel the need to give their opinions on the subject without knowing anything. And I agree that Blink 182 is not punk.
