I don't think it's normal, but it us rather common. It's not always a catfight? I used to be into martial arts, and I would pretty much only fight to defend myself, but I'd probably fight more like a man. I don't scratch, bite, slap and rip clothes, but I would punch and kick if necessary. I have thankfully never been in fight with another girl, but I used to get into fights with loser boys in elementary school. I haven't fought for anything other than sport since elementary school.
It's pretty fucked up when guys get all hot and bothered about women getting into physical altercations with one another.
So it's only ok for women to fight or defend themselves when it's in the martial arts or when they're fighting off an attacker? Or that you would go as far as fighting "loser" boys, but not against another girl?

I don't seek to fight others, and really haven't been in a lot of fights since I was a child. Honestly martial arts is more about discipline, building self-esteem and learning self-defense for me.
I would never participate in a cat fight, because I don't bite and scratch anyone. I punch and kick, and if some rabid bitch comes at me to bite me I'll just hit her with the pepper spray or my taser/stun gun, cause I ain't tryin to catch AIDS from some skank bitch, end of muthafuckin story.
Well RoseIsabella, you sound like a smart person and would be fighter if it did occur.
Not that it matters and all styles of "catfighting" is different - for example there are staged catfight matches with rules where the fighters are not allowed to bite, scratch or punch in the face. What you're talking about is the all out street fight. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to get into that!
