Often the realisation that you were being a hypocrite is an afterthought. If you know it at the time and don't like this behaviour you'd gradually over time try to improve and not do this.
Some people have extremely high standards and don't like to see others mess up because they can reflect this back on themselves and see they do the same. It's nice to think things are perfect.. so if they dont go that way. we dont like it.
if it's simply about being a hypocrite, just try and improve on yourself first then you can be concerned about others, mainly if it actually effects YOU though.
