Is it normal that I get a taste in my mouth when fantasizing?

  • It could be classical conditioning. That means you pair a stimulus (e.g. A song, a feeling, etc.) with an emotion (e.g. Love, happiness, fear, etc.). For example, a young girl had a phobia because her dad used to tell her as a joke that a rickety old bridge they used ti drive over was extremely unstable. She felt scared and so associated the bridge (conditioned stimulus) with her natural (unconditioned) response of fear. So maybe there's something you ate when you were having a good time with your boyfriend - maybe a kind of wine or something, so whenever you sexually fantasise about your boyfriend, your tongue remembers the taste.
