I cannot speak for the OP, nor did I ever become dispirited or falter rising to the harsh demands of my adolescence. Your moral certitude is not absolutely best for all the people all of the time. It really is just as simple as that.
Well, it works for me, and if I had a teenager you couldn't pay be to sleep with one of my kid's friends, because that's a selfish, skanky and shitty thing to do. No excuses!
