Is it normal that i function best on only like 1400 calories a day?

I know your normally supposed to have around 2000 calories a day but I swear I hardly ever eat that much. I am not hungry or anything. I am not really an active person, but I take 20 or so minute walks a and do yoga a few times a week. I not thin, I am 5.5 and weigh like 135. I normally eat all 3 meals and a snack or two, but I just get full really easily, I eat smaller portions.

I'm almost exactly the same in all respects, 1400 cals, short walks, 5'5, yoga...it's a bit weird actually XD But I'm 128 :) I used to be 135 for a long time though and suddenly lost weight recently after illness
    ...spooky...

I function best on roughly 2800 calories per day, though somehow I never put on weight.
Better make the most of it whilst I'm young.

2,000 calories is for an average height, average weight person, who does an average amount of exercise, etc. I'm about 6ft but weigh practically nothing and eat a ton, but I exercise a lot. You're quite short so you wouldn't need as much food.

Calories consumed varies greatly with many variances.

During intense training periods I was shoving in 3,000 to 4,000 calories daily yet was still losing around one pound daily.

Of course, at the end of the regimen I could engage three to four other males and defeat them in unarmed combat.

    Wasn't worth it, though.

I would have likely been better served devoting effort to creating and maintaining better inter-personal relationships with others.

    Sniff.

yeah the 2000 calories is a rough guide everyone one is different. It can depend on gender, weight, height, how active you are, your metabolism and stuff.

You need 2000 calories if you are an average sized active male. A young woman (not pregnant) will only need about 1200.

You're not really supposed to have 2,000. There's a chart.
