Maybe we're not. Maybe because we're reasonably good at upvoting good answers, it looks like good answers are more prevalent than they are. Although if I had to say from personal experience of the site, I think IIN users most often have three figure IQs (which puts us above average). I'd be surprised if more than about 10% of IIN users had double figure IQs (which puts us significantly above average).
Although, I did write a sneaky poll here once which, on the face of it, was about people's IQ score but was secretly about whether people lie about them. I referred to this:
http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/iqtable.aspx
I got a good number of answers and it was pretty easy to work out expectation (even for a very talented group). It was then easy to map the expectation of wrong answers and factor it upward until I had the most probable answer. My best estimate was that more than half of people lied about their IQ. Even if we are a talented bunch who are 25 IQ points over average (very unlikely, as a 125 IQ or above occurs in less than 6% of people), then still just under half of people were lying about their IQ.
Just looked back at the post since a lot more people have voted and the results are even more biased now.
As a side note, apparently people are most likely to lie about things that aren't immediately self-evident (i.e. you can't determine someone's IQ without testing) but men who do online dating are apparently most likely to lie about their height. Strange, eh?
IIN that I find the IIN community to be noticeably intelligent?

They also tend to lie about... other things methinks.
