Is it normal that I find people who want to live in Japan pathetic?

I'm American and Caucasian and not to mention I'm a fan of japanese culture and anime, yet I completely agree with you. I'm pretty logical when it comes to things not to mention I'm interested in japanese culture. Aka not just japanese pop culture but also it's history. I actually have read about Japan's past civilization and present civilization. I know how Japan actually is because of this. I also know someone who lived there during his time in the military and he has told me about his experience there. Even without him I already know it's not thr anime otaku utopia with only nice people everyone thinks it is. I would love to visit , not sure if I'd ever live there. And if I did I would know what I'm getting into. I mean I'm sure Japan is very nice but it's nothing like what a lot of people think it is. A lot of my friends either used to want to live there or still do. They are obsessed with the idea. I think it's really stupid and annoying. I totay agree and it's normal.
