In all seriousness, I do agree with you. I don't actually find paedophilia funny. It's a horrendous crime, the perpetrators of which cannot be described with words.
Paedophilia isn't a crime, it can't be 'perpetrated'.
What you're talking about is child rape/sexual assault.
Paedophilia is a mental condition in which a man or woman is predominantly attracted to children of prepubescent age. It, in itself, is not a crime.
Not all of those who commit child rape/sexual assault are paedophiles, strange as that may sound, and not all paedophiles commit child rape/sexual assault.
Distinguishing between a type of mental condition and a type of crime is important, imo :)
