I'm mixed race and YES you are absolutely racist. Preference is one thing-its not that you need to be attracted to every girl you see-but it should be a person by person decision if you'd like to not be racist. Somewhere inside you wish you were white(r) because you know somewhere some girl finds black men "disgusting". Some girl in your life has looked and you and said "yeah I would NEVER date him, gross". This isn't your fault, and I'm sorry it's true. What's awful is culture has taught you to see this way-to hate yourself without being fully aware of it, to find certain characteristics "disgusting". If dark skinned black girls graced the cover of Maxim and Vogue the same way your "preferred" skin colors did, you'd feel differently. You're racist-I hope you can overcome it- it will take a lot of soul searching and hard work. Google "self-hatred racism" for resources.
