FWB is fine as a film plot or when we are just thinking about it. The problem is that the normal setting for most people is that they want to be loved by someone. So it is inevitable that you might want something more than FWB. I would recommend the following test:
Steer clear of your FWB for a fortnight and try not to think about your friend. A week is too short and a month is too long. Make up any reasonable excuse but try to avoid any contact. Then on the fifteenth day, make contact and see if there you have feelings for your FWB. If you haven't stopped thinking about her/him then the FWB relationship is doomed and you should tell them you have feelings for them. If they reciprocate your feelings then you have a partner; if they reject you then it isn't worth going back to FWB. Obviously if after a fortnight you only think about sex, then just keep going with the FWB line and don't tell them about your test.
Is it normal, that I felt something?
