this is normal and here's why. you're probably pretty young 14-19 years old range, at this point in your life you're probably trying to find something for yourself to feel comfortable around and oh boy, here comes "mr. perfect" you feel safe with him because he listens to you, but you haven't seen him as a person yet, his flaws, his dirty secrets. not to discredit you or your relationship. you're associating your feelings of security and safety with love and emotional attraction which is fine, but don't cling too much to this idea of "love" because it might come crashing down later.
you two should spend time together, see each other for who you are and then decide whether to take the next step or not.
