You need to be straightforward with him. It sounds like you want to be there for him, so let him know that, but also let him know there's a time and place for everything. He needs you, you know this. Trust me though, you'll be saving his life if you stick around for him, and he won't always need this kind of attention from you. He's very scared right now- he's got a clear head and so he's confronting all of the horrible things his family has done. Just assure him you won't neglect him like everyone else, even if you two don't talk as often.
