It's normal to go through a heavy masturbatory phase, but if you find yourself missing work or neglecting your studies it's an obsession and you need counseling.
There is nothing wrong with masturbating, I masturbate every morning before getting out of bed. Is thee issue the number of times you masturbate or the amount of time each day that you spend masturbating? Perhaps you need to find a sexual partner?
