Is it normal that i feel sick whenether i brush my teeth at night

I never used to get this, but I've been feeling like throwing up after brushing my teeth for the last few weeks before I go to bed. It happens using natural toothpaste, charcoal powder and even just brushing with water. I even got a new brush to make sure it wasn't that and no difference.

Is it because you're triggering your gag reflex?

Don't stop brushing your teeth though or this could happen:

I gag when I eat sometimes, and also when I brush sometimes. Doctor can't explain it. I'm not allergic to anything either.

Do you smoke? From what leggs91200 said I feel this could be the reason for me.

I used to get that real bad when i smoked. These days it is just when I have a bad cold.

Maybe try brushing at a different time. Like first thing when you wake up instead of just before bed or vice versa

Funny you say that because I have been smoking quite heavily lately specially later at night, as well as feeling slightly ill. Maybe it's the smoking? I need to cut down anyway.

Quitting smoking definitely helps things. Like possibly -

        lung rattling at night.
        Gagging when brushing teeth.
        blood pressure.
Holes getting burned in your favorite clothes.
A little extra money you are not used to having.

Quit smoking today and tell the nicodemon to go suck a big fat greasy boner.
I been quit for over a year now and while I sometimes still want one, it is NOT worth it. Taste and smell came back and life is better.
Do not quit smoking to live longer, do it to live better.
