Is it normal that i feel sick when people tell me i am?

My mom is a nurse and when I have a slight pain or something is a little wrong I'll ask her about it. She always tells me that I COULD have blank disease/syndrome/whatever. However, whenever she says this I start to feel worse for a while and feel like I am developing more symptoms. But then it just goes away. I was just wondering if anyone else feels more sick when someone tells them that they could have a disease?

Is It Normal?

  • I have the cure! Every time you start to feel like this slap yourself hard and say out loud "I'm being a dick! There's nothing wrong with me other than being a bit of dick!"

  • Yeah, I think you're a hypochondriac.

  • Sounds like you may have a small case of Hypochondria. Where you believe you have things wrong with you when you really don't

  • Yes! It's perfectly normal. I guess it's just something that you think is happening to your body but is really not. Happens to me al the time.
