I'm not happy with being 40 either. You know you're getting old when elected presidents start being younger than yourself. Damn.

I'm the same age and I feel like the awesomeness that I am.

I've seen some awesome looking babe's in their 40's and even 50's so not to worry. Of course you look older because you are older. It's called life.

It's sadly normal. With society's expectations of success or beauty being so convoluted it's very difficult for most people to not feel the way you do. Gotta start loving yourself and giving yourself more credit. Life is beautiful and people shouldn't feel that way, it's all an experience the "good" and the "bad" it's all necessary. Try to lighten up, love yourself, and love everyone more-its all a learning experience. If you or that asshole didn't do that thing that was "bad" then how would you appreciate the "good" ever? If you're worried about your age then you really need to change your ways now or you will be 80 and still feeling ugly and old and really regret not taking that breath and appreciating life more. I got a bit off topic, but it's because it usually goes hand in hand with what you're feeling.

Yes, it's normal. I recommend removing all mirrors to be safe.

I'm 47 and I don't have a problem with it and I feel like I have earned all of my 47 years. It seems I feel more liberated the older I get because I don't have to prove anything to anybody. My life seems to get easier the older I get and quite frankly, I quite like it. You couldn't pay me enough money to go through my twenties again. I would shoot myself if I had to go back to 21 or 37 for that matter.

I'm already terrified of aging at 23. I dread to think how I'm going to be in my 30s or, God I hope I don't live that long, even later.

Well, I'm 47, but there's nothing I can do about that, because the only thing that stops the aging process is death. I'm not ready for death, because haven't owned nearly enough pets in my life. Try not to ruminate so much about your age, because obsessing and feeling bad about all of that won't change any of it. The only thing dwelling on it will do is waste your time and emotion that you could have spent doing and thinking about things you enjoy.

I'm not trying to invalidate you, I'm just speaking from personal experience.

Well 37 is too old to have kids, so that part is accurate. And you may be ugly, I don't know. So yeah normal.
