If I were you I would try to get out of that house as much as possible. You should babysit etc in the evenings and stash the cash as much as possible to get out of there as quickly as possible. Try to make lots of new friends coz one of them may just open the door to an opportunity for you.

BTW my husband is the black sheep in his family - who are a rotten lot too, so it's not uncommon.
