You sound like the two teenagers who were out on the ocean for 5 days with no food and water. When rescued they praised god for their salvation. But if you believe in god don't you have to also believe he sent you out there to be miserable and nearly die, 5 days in a small boat at sea?
If there is a god, he has to be a terrible, malevolent unloving god for everyday I read of despicable acts against helpless children, never mind all the other horrible things that happen in this world, from earthquakes to bombings.
Is it normal that I feel like God wants to harm me?
