Is it normal that i eat meat, then feel awful?

A while ago I was enjoying dinner, and I took a bite of meat I was happy about the taste, but then I thought about it and considered it almost, cannabilism. But there is one bad thing, I can't let go of being able to eat meat. I've felt awful, and some nights I can't sleep.

Back when I had pet chickens I used to feel so sad and guilty. I never ate my pets. I'd just buy chicken from the store, cook it, and eat that. I wanted to stop eating meat, but it tastes so good. After a while I thought "as long as it's not MY chickens, it's not my problem." Then I got over it.

If eating meat is making you feel guilty, then you should maybe try not eating meat. There are lots of vegetarians today and lots of options when it comes to meat substitutes (although they are still not quite like the real thing). Maybe you can try gradually cutting back on meat or eliminating certain types of meat from your diet over time.

Yes it's normal. That's why I am a vegetarian. I think about how the animal had to suffer just to feed me. And it turns me off of meat.

Its a bit weird that you are losing sleep over it but apart from that its normal. I love to eat meat but i also like to eat meat substitute products. I am in the UK and a popular brand here is Quorn (pronounced corn). They have a wide range of products like burgers, sausages, meat rolls and chicken style nuggets. These particular products contain mycoprotein which is a protein derived from fungi! Very filling nonetheless and also very tasty.

I've been vegan for 19 years and can tell you it is not only doable but enjoyable and the longer you do it the easier and more joyful it becomes. I love my lifestyle. Google vegan blogs for recipes and inspiration. It's really not hard.

Why don't you try supermeat? Google it up, it's supposed to taste exactly the same, and it doesnt' kill any animal. Some vegans I follow on twittter support it.
