You didn't have electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) did you? One of the drawbacks is that it wipes out your memories.
My brother seems to remember all kinds of minutiae from when we were young, but I remember educational stuff better, like history, geography, etc. I think he reviews his personal history more than I do.
Your priorities as to what's important to remember may be more like mine.
