Is it normal that i don't want to raise a child at the age of 18?

So I broke up with a girl three weeks ago, I am still in highschool going to college next year. She is a junior and I do not have any emotional feelings for her. She contacted me yesterday and says she is pregnant with my child. I beg of her to abort it knowing neither of us can support this child, and I do not want to raise a child with this person. She is refusing what are my options?

Is It Normal?

  • It's her body, she can do what she wants. When you can carry a child then you can make decisions as to whether or not abortion is an appropriate choice.

Why didn't you just wear a condom? You're powerless over whether or not she chooses to have the child or get an abortion. If she chooses to go through with the pregnancy you can, of course, request a paternity test. Maybe you'll luck out and it won't be yours, but either way hopefully you will have learned a lesson which is to always wear protection.

When I was young my favorite condoms were the ones with spermicidal lubricant!

  • As azaman said...since you just recently broke up, maybe she's just trying to get back at you?

    • It was all a lie, she was trying to control everything I did. So I went to my guidance counselor about it. They came up with a plan, I took her to the clinic and she's all happy before being with me, we get the negative test she starts balling. It was a huge ass lie!

  • Okay, so you two used a condom and it broke; however, you didn't cum, but precum was possible. You both were aware of it breaking and she refused to take emergency contraception because she's an idiot about precum and you believed her. You break up with her and weeks later she calls you up with this, "I'm pregnant, it's yours, and I will not abort it." Right? If that's the story, then you didn't do anything wrong. You tried wearing a condom and it broke. You asked her to take a Plan-B, but she was too ignorant. Even if you knew that conception is possible with precum, it still would have been her choice to take the Plan-B or not. You simply can't force her to do anything.

Talk to your parents. Tell them everything, no matter how embarrassing. See if your parents can talk to hers, and see if they can talk some sense into their daughter. If you live in the USA, learn about the laws in your area from Statutory rape, surrendering parental rights, and child support.

If she still insist on continuing her pregnancy, make sure to get a paternity test when the baby is born; if you live in the USA, they give those free on the day of birth in the hospital if you request it.

  • She is in junior. Does it mean she is a minor.? Your options depend on the law of your country.

  • My friend knocked up a girl, refused to believe it was his for a few months after the kid was born. Then finally took on the responsibility of being a dad when proven he was the father by maternity test... Even though they have split custody and he cares for his kid every other week, he still pays the mom child support... Don't get wrapped up in a similar shit storm... But have you considered, being that the break up was recent, she's possibly lying to try and maintain some sorta relationship with you..?
