The trouble is that, although it's supposed to be for the bride, it never really is.
The bride is consumed with what other people think of the event. And how impressed they are. And what they thought. And did they like the food. What nonsense.
For the rich the party is for family and business connections. At my sister's wedding my father and brother were working deals instead of paying attention to her.
For the middle class it's to make people think you have more money than you do. And then regret spending so much when it all falls apart.
It's just so bloody stupid.
The groom doesn't matter, he's just there to get laid.
