Is it normal that I don't want a career?

  • Many careers make you work so much you won't have a personal life. Well, if your have a passion for what you do, then it's not really work. That's how doctors, lawyers, etc. can work so much without going crazy. If you don't have a passion for it, don't do it.

But what is your definition of a career? Your "small, modest job" could be starting a business in something you love, even if you don't make much. (love cooking? start a little bakery. Love animals? Be a groomer or trainer. Love kids? start a daycare in your home.) Just because you don't have a giant, prestigeous career, doesn't mean you don't have one.
