I think the Bible set down these 'rules' to maintain the structure of society. They didn't have benefits for single moms, although I do think stoning her to death was a bit extreme. Most on this site are living for the moment and all this nonsense about friends with benefits, has been a myth perpetrated by men conning stupid women. Each generation thinks they invented sex but this generation is going to learn the hard way, about being so open (legged).
I have a friend who is a really tough guy but he loves his wife to bits and she is the only person in the world who can do no wrong! She goes away for holidays with the girls for weeks on end, goes boozing and can do / spend absolutely anything she likes. You'd have to know him to know that this is soooo unusual for him. So why? They got together when she was 21 and she had NEVER had sex with another man! He respects and trusts her as he knows she wasn't the local 'bike' for any fool to use and abuse. 20 years later he knows she still has these high morals.
It's the girls who get the reputation not the men but these same men don't respect, or want to marry, a local whore. Sad but true :o(
Don't be anyone's fool. Make sure you give a relationship time to know that you really are in love to make love.
