Ah, the squat position. For a lot of the world this is the normal way to poo. You might have seen a squat toilet - it's pretty much just a hole to poo in, with porcelain around it to catch any splatter. They're mostly an Asia thing, but you see them sometimes in Europe, e.g. France.
I prefer sitting to poo, but lots of people prefer squatting. HOWEVER - I have voted you as not normal, because it is considered poor form to squat on a sitting toilet. Other people are going to sit where you put your dirty shoes. In some places (e.g. Singapore airport) you see signs like this:
sitting down while pooping is unnatural. just think how you would poop without a toilet. plus pooping while squating prevents water from splashing on your hole.
Is it normal that I don't sit on the toilet seat?
