Is it normal that i don't shave 'down there'?

I've never really had sex of any kind before but me and my boyfriend were talking about it and a lot of Q&A went on and we got on this topic. I've really never had any reason to, but is this not normal to not shave there?

    I think it's more common to be shaved/waxed but it's ok if u keep it neat an trimmed.

    I never used to shave the first times I had sex for like a year and no one said anything about it they didn't carre

    I find it ultimately disgusting, this is a total turnoff for me. I dont know how you look down there but i can tell you sticking your face in a mouthful of pubic hair is just damn gross
