    It's normal. Well it should be. Yu shouldn't be forced to love and respect someone just because they are your family. Love and respect is earned. But judging from your post it sounds like she does care and love you but your struggling because she's over controlling ( correct me if I'm wrong). If this is overbearing I suggest you talk to her. She just wants what's best
