I used to do that a lot as a young child because I thought my voice was too big and masculine. Then after highschool when I started working in radio broadcasting I learned to love my voice! I haven't worked in my field of study in so long that its not funny and actually quite embarrassing to admit, however.

I don't sound the way I hear myself. I always cringe when hearing a recording of my voice.
