Is it normal that i don't like the beatles?

I have a 14 year old niece and when she came over, I started playing some songs by the Beatles. She then said (her exact words) "This music sucks. Justin Bieber is way more talented."

That is the day I lost faith in humanity.

I always liked the beatles. It's cool. You like what you like. If you don't like them, thats alright. Not a big deal.

Well, they are from my era and I loved them. But, to each their own.

Who gives a fuck what you like?? As long as youndont force others to listen to it.

The Beatles were terrible. Before you judge me as some kid who loves rap and autotuned mainstream stuff, I listen to Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, etc. But the main argument for The Beatles' greatness is how they "revolutionized" music. But Bob Dylan and The Beach Boys were copied from by The Beatles. The Beatles were around before The Beach Boys, but they never were as highly regarded until after The Beach Boys emerged, and The Beatles became popular with a very similar sound. What made them popular was the fact that they were pretty boys. They were the Justin Beiber of the 60s. Other than them being pretty boys, it was also the hippie movement. Their music led the way on that. If it weren't for that, they would most likely be LESS popular than The Beach Boys or Bob Dylan. They got popular from following a trend, kind of like selling out, but before ever actually being good.

The wrote great songs, and catchy melodies, good lyrics, but their problem was their vocals. They weren't very good singers and they sounded completely emotionless.

i don't either. the lead singer had such an awful voice.

Over-rated boyband of the 60s imo. Yes..I was a child when they were popular so it's not a generational thing..

This is completely normal. I don't like them either.. I like bands like Aerosmith, etc. It's really just a matter of opinion. How can anyone vote that this isn't normal? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Definitely not normal...everyone samples or covers songs from the beatles...u like those songs and u just don't know it!!

I never liked Beatles, preferred to it classical music. Nothing bad in that.

You have to aquire the taste for old welfare pop music, otherwise you'll just throw it in the garbage.

They aren't overrated. They had a HUGE impact on music. Maybe research it or something? *sigh*
I love the beatles. I don't hate people who don't. Everyone has different music tastes. But let me make this point, they put out music that is still selling today. iTunes, CDs, games, tee shirts. Who is going to want to hear Justin Bieber 40 something years from now?
