Go to mosque and get some genuine friends. These people that you have described are slaves to many things, and they are not man enough to stand up on their own principles. Kudos to you for being normal. But believe me you don't need such friends to drag you down. Get better ones.

I have been down on Islam lately due to world events.
I'm not a religious person, but your answer reminds me that there are good folks everywhere, just as as there are bad folks.
